Therapy, Support, and Counseling at the Franciscan Renewal Center
Grounded in the Gospel concepts of peace and human dignity, the Franciscan Renewal Center provides supportive counseling by volunteers who have education and experience as licensed behavioral health professionals in the community and students in the therapy professions. Although the Casa follows the Catholic tradition, this supportive counseling is extended to people of all faiths or no particular faith at all.
We do not diagnose or treat major mental health concerns in the Counseling Ministry, however we offer more than 60 hours per week of donated supportive counseling services through the generosity of these licensed behavioral health professionals who leave their private practices and come to the Casa each week to volunteer their time as an outreach to the community. No one is ever turned away due to lack of funds or insurance.
This follows the example of St. Francis of Assisi, who reached out to both the marginalized and privileged members of society – to people in pain and in need. With patience and without blame, we welcome all who are hurting or stumbling through difficult life transitions.
