Leadership… Wellness…

Now that the Easter Season has drawn to a close, it’s an opportunity to pause and take stock of where we’ve come from and look towards the future. I am pleased to share the news that Survival School, the very successful training program for church and non-profit leaders, has officially become part of the Franciscan Renewal Center. Survival School will form the centerpiece of a newly created department within the Casa: The Center for Leadership Wellness. The Center will operate as a separate department and will be represented internally by Pat Bennier and me. The other Survival School faculty (Tricia Hoyt, Mary Fogelson and Greg Foraker) will continue to be part of the team providing thoughtful leadership, classes and content.

Service offerings of The Center for Leadership Wellness will continue to include the original, week-long Survival School plus single-evening Coaching Sessions, as well as some new programming. Coming this fall, we will start offering a series of 21⁄2 day leadership development modules. Stay tuned!

The Center for Leadership Wellness is a wonderful addition to the many great offerings of the Casa and nicely dovetails with our mission: for the church and non-profit leaders themselves, as well as the individuals and teams they lead, the Center will nurture spiritual growth, foster healing and transformation and facilitate service to others. In short, the Center brings renewal to churches and non-profit organizations by developing inspired leaders, thriving teams and ultimately more successful (healthier) organizations.

I am really excited about this department and how we will respond to the needs of churches and non-profit leaders and continue to develop the Center’s curriculum with new ideas and topics. Over half of the Casa’s current staff members have seen and experienced firsthand the benefits of the education and support this program offers, as have many volunteer leaders at the Casa. On the Casa website, the Center for Leadership Wellness can be found under “Programs & Activities” from the primary navigation bar.

The next session of Survival School will be held July 13-17, 2015. To register, please click here or call 480.948.7460 ext. 132.
