05/21/2010 - 05/23/2010 Creating Healing Ceremonies
The Native American concept of health is that state of being when your thoughts, actions and emotions are in balance.
Healing happens when what you know (the mind), what you say and do (the body), and what you feel (the spirit) are all telling the same story.
In a culture of science and technology, we tend to over-emphasize the importance of what we know and what we can do in promoting our healing, while minimizing what we feel and intuit. Ceremonies provide the structure by which people get in touch with their feelings. In this retreat, we will learn how to create personal ceremonies that intensify one's power to heal both self and others.
Instructor:Dr. Carl Hammerschlag is a psychiatrist who has spent more than 20 years working with Native Americans. His unique insights about the science and spirit of healing will provide a framework for new discovery. |
