10 Ways To Give Away An Apple

December 9th, 2010 in Uncategorized by 4 Comments

Pondering the Franciscan concept of “giving away all that one has been given,” I thought I’d start with something easy.

10 Ways to Give Away an Apple.

Bake it in a pie.

Place the peelings in a compost pile.

Make up a story about the apple and tell it to a 5 year old.

Put it out for the birds (or squirrels) to eat.

Take a picture of it and hang it where other people can enjoy it.

Put it on your head and let someone with impeccable aim shoot an arrow through it.

Make applesauce for someone who can’t bite apples anymore.

Dry it, and then mix it into a potpourri so others can enjoy its scent.

Play catch with it.

Write a love note, attach it to the apple, and leave it for the apple of your eye.

I do like apples. Apples are from the begining of time. Do you remember your first taste of an apple? Everything begins from a seed and then grows to become that Apple. If you fall from the tree of life like the apple are you reseeded or in other words reborn. If you remember the taste of your first apple then add one more way to your list.

How about planting the seeds in a small pot and offering them to individuals who would love to learn how to garden. :)
